Title: Overheating after long upcountry climbs – 300Tdi
Post by: DefenderTalks on Jul 21, 2025, 09:46 PM
My Defender overheats only when climbing steep roads like Haputale or Nuwara Eliya. Normal in flat terrain. Coolant is fresh, radiator replaced last year. Any suggestions?

Could be a few things—check the fan clutch (it might be slipping under high load), and see if the intercooler is clogged. Also make sure the coolant system is properly bled—airlocks can cause this. A hood vent or electric fan mod helps on climbs.
