Title: Left the car fridge on and killed my Defender battery
Post by: Amantha_Puththa on Jul 09, 2026, 10:09 AM
Machanla, a quick warning. On my last camping trip, I left my 12V fridge plugged into the stock socked overnight. Next morning, the main battery was completely dead. Luckily we were on a hill and could roll-start, but it was a scary lesson.
Now I need a dual-battery system. How are you boys powering your fridges and camp lights without standing your vehicle?

Machan classic mistake😂 happened to almost everyone in this group at some point. Dual battery system is 100% worth it, isolator relay setup so the fridge only pulls from the second battery and never touches your starter battery. Ask any auto electrical shop in Colombo, most know this setup by now.
