I love the Defender but is it too rough for daily use — like Colombo traffic, school runs, etc.

Defenders actually hold their value quite well in Sri Lanka, especially classic models and good-condition imports. There's strong demand from enthusiasts and off-road fans. If you maintain it properly and keep it clean, you won't lose too much even after years of use — especially with import restrictions boosting demand for older units.

I'm considering getting a Defender but worried about resale value. How do they hold up in the Sri Lankan market?

Yes! Take the old estate route via Bandarawela – Passara side and cut through the 21-hairpin section. Some muddy patches during rain. GPS essential. Talk to local estate folks before entering private sections. Epic views guaranteed!

Planning a two-day Defender run from Ella to Ohiya. Anyone done it? Looking for scenic + moderately challenging trail with some mud & hill climbs.

Try checking riyasewana.com and also local FB groups like "Land Rover Owners SL." Defender 90s are rare now, but a few clean builds pop up post-Feb 2025 import lift. If you're open to importing, talk to Lanka Vehicle Importers – some have UK stock.

Looking for a Defender 90, ideally a manual version—Tdi or Puma is fine. Budget around LKR 6–7.5 million. Drop links if you know sellers or garages.

Say you're at a remote campsite and you head off for a short hike or visit a nearby village. Do you lock everything inside? Use lockable storage boxes? Chain the stuff down to the rack?

Machan just came back from a trail run in Knuckles – few rock climbs and muddy sections. Now the steering feels really tight when turning, especially at low speed. No oil leak or visible issue. Could it be mud jammed or pump ekata problem ekak wage? Anyone faced this?

Mcn my friend just bought his first Defender (TD5). He want to do basic stuff like oil changes, brake pads, greasing, etc. What tools should buy to start a small home setup?
